Good fried rice

Good food, fast service, clean and friendly environment.

We had ordered takeout here once before, and it wasn't great. Today we tried to give it another chance. We were fooled. Probably the worst "chinese" food I've ever eaten. Chow mein is just a soupy mix of mostly celery and a little bit of onions with some small hard, fried "noodles." Mandarin chicken is just slices of fried chicken (no flavor at all). I am completely baffled at how many people have reviewed this place and said that it was good. Y'all must have some bad taste buds. Look at the photos of the food closely. Save your money and drive to Rexburg or Idaho Falls. Very expensive for such low quality food that I could cook up very easily with no effort at all. You'll be disappointed if you purchase here.

The food was delicious. But the 5 stars are for the waiter. He is the best waiter ever. I don't know his name, but he's the only one that we saw. He deserves a gold star and a raise!! ⭐

I love New Star! The staff is always so kind and welcoming, they do a great job at helping you choose what type of food to order too. Everything is delicious and ee are lucky to have them in Rigby!

Awesome food. This is the best Chinese food from Idaho Falls to Rexburg. The ingredients are fresh and the meat is tender. The flavor is great and the service is as good as the food. It's worth the drive. The outside is nothing special. They keep the inside very clean.

Good Chinese food if that's your go to... I'm not a fan of Chinese food but my kids could eat there everyday if they could! ;) Great place! They can get pretty busy pretty fast!!

Serving wasn't enough... containers were half full... flavor was good...

Consistently the best fried rice I've had. Most places their rice is too greasy and flavorless but New Star's is always nice and fluffy and good flavor throughout all of the rice. Perfect for those Chinese American take out cravings!

Food Was good however it was burnt and up charged me almost $3 to,change to LoMein from Chow mein.

New star is hands-down the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. I love their Chinese food so much their ham fried rice is the best. I always order this when I go up to Idaho to visit family, and I always bring extra back for me for when I get home. Seriously anyone looking for Chinese food this is a place to get it they have great options in the food itself is the best.

The food is pretty good and the servers usually do a great job. Most items are just the same sweet and sour sauce with a different garnish. We asked for three different chicken dishes and the server told us they were all the same. Example: sesame chicken is just sweet and sour with sesame seeds. Into much variety for family style meal.

I always make sure to hit New Star whenever I go through Rigby, great food and service.

Pretty average tasty chinese food. Very consistent and pretty good. Worth the visit.

A regular lunch destination for Klim employees. Food is good and consistent but not what I would call "authentic". Living room atmosphere with Christmas decorations on the ceiling. Lunch menus are inexpensive. Would recommend.

Good food, but poorly managed. Have visited here here a handful of times over the years and usually find that there is just 1 waitor/waitress serving/busing several tables and taking to go orders. As we sit here the poor waitress is by herself, has 10 tables and is taking calls for to go orders and fulfilling all the take out orders. Always leave here scratching my head why they don't have more help...

Excellent staff! The food is very delicious. I have had Chinese food in San Francisco, but NO RESTAURANT CAN COMPARE to New Star Restaurant. The owner is very particular about how often he changes the oil. This has been eye opening after understanding the color of the food I was served here. I asked why my fried rice was not Brown and taste greasy?(lol) He explained it and learned you when put quality service in what you enjoy it does not matter if others acknowledge or appreciate It, but you know you gave your best.I recommend this restaurant and business owner as being the BEST IN THE INDUSTRY. Anyone that eats here is treat to clean oil and quality care.A+. I hope the locals appreciate the gem here.

I would give it 5 stars on a normal day but I am super sad when I got my sweet and sour chicken it was just fried starch or whatever they put it in and the chicken looked like it.had been through the ringer! I couldn't even eat it because it was is hard And the pork was soaked in grease.... they usually do a better job

My family absolutely loves New Star. It's super clean, the food is always amazing and the prices you can't beat. The egg drop soup is hands down my favorite. I go weekly to pick this up for me to take home.

We literally eat here once a week!!! Their sweet and sour is AMAZING and their beef Low Mein is also SOO GOOD! We tried their fried rice once and we’re not fans but you can’t go wrong with their sweet and sour and beef LM 😍

Worst Chinese food I've ever had. I ordered a number six got something completely different. They exchanged it for a number six, Mandarin Chicken, wontons and chow mein. The Mandarin Chicken was tough and chewy, the chow mein had no noodles in it at all and the wontons were not made with wonton skins are made with some flowery battery stuff.

Great food! Fantastic service! Menu is about the same as most Chinese restaurants. Average price!
